This is an original ambrotype of an early war U.S. infantryman. Really Great example of an enlisted man’s pattern of 1858 “Hardee” hat and dress frock complete with shoulder scales. The Hardee hat was popularly worn by Wisconsin, New Hampshire, Indiana, Michigan, and especially Regular Army regiments.
